Parenting and the Law of Attraction

Written by Christy Whitman December 10, 2012

I had been practicing and working with the Law of Attraction for over fifteen years when I became a parent. I thought I would just approach parenting like I did all the other things I wanted to manifest and experience in my life such as creating my ideal partner, my ideal body, my ideal house, my ideal career, my ideal financial abundance, and much much more.

When I became a mom for the first time, I was completely overwhelmed by how this little being needed EVERYTHING and I was the one to give it to him. I was no longer on my own schedule and had to be very flexible with him. When I was practicing the Law of Allowing and flowing with the needs of Alex, I was happy and felt very connected. All the interactions I had with him were amazing.

Then I had my second child, Maxim. Now, with two small beings needing my attention and having all of their needs met by me, I found it more and more difficult to keep my grounding. As flexible and allowing as I tried to be, I was resisting and it was causing me a lot of struggle and pain.

Then I realized I was not applying the Law of Allowing or the Law of Attraction to my parenting style. I was not deliberately intending for what I wanted my interactions and moments to be with them. As soon as I started to take a moment before a new segment of my day and declare what I wanted it to be like, it started to manifest as such.

Parenting is just another aspect of our lives where the universal laws apply. When we can work with the laws and not against them, we are happy and in alignment.

1. Focus on what you want with your child.
2. Identify and intend to feel the feeling you want to experience each day.
3. Connect with that feeling before having any interaction with your child.
4. When you feel resistance, stop and go within and realign to your happiness and joy.
5. Repeat steps 1-4.
